Dan Feuling for Supervisor
R-District 4, Chickasaw County, Iowa
Fiscally Conservative Taxpayer
Experienced, Retired Tribune Publisher
It’s Your Money. Together, We Can Do Better!
23% Tax Increases are Not OK. Please Vote Tuesday, June 7
In order to vote in my June 7 Primary Election, you must be a Registered Republican.
My race for District 4 Supervisor offers a choice between 3 Republican candidates:
Dan Feuling, Retired Tribune Publisher
Incumbent Steve Geerts, Plumber & Fire Chief
Ron Underwood, Farmer & mink rancher
I am the only candidate who can work full-time, with no distractions or obligations in retirement. I will learn the whole job and do it right.
As the former owner, I will work closely with the Tribune to keep you informed and prevent any more 23% tax increase surprises.
I am the only candidate with 26 years of experience in promoting New Hampton as Tribune Publisher, Chamber of Commerce President, Industrial Development President and 26 year Board member of both.
I will work with the City, Chamber and Industrial Development Corporation to fill local industrial job openings, attract sister industries, fill retail store vacancies and provide good jobs and affordable housing in New Hampton.
There are currently no local farmers, businessmen or industry managers, actually responsible for giving raises, serving on the County Compensation Commission. I will work to appoint local farmers, business owners and industry managers to the Compensation Commission, who recommend annual county raises.
You trusted me at the Tribune for 26 years and you can trust me to do a good job managing our tax money as your full-time Supervisor.
I will vote like a conservative retired taxpayer to keep our taxes from rising. Together, we can spend our tax money more wisely, but you must vote. Voter turnout may be low in this Primary Election & Every Vote Will Count.
Promoting Our Market
I have spent my entire adult life promoting good jobs and growth for the people of New Hampton and Chickasaw County.
During my tenure as Publisher of the Tribune Newspaper and as 1992 President of the Iowa Newspaper Association, I promoted New Hampton around the state and at home through the Chamber of Commerce and New Hampton Industrial Corporation, serving on both Boards for 26 years and as President of both.
As a Supervisor, I can help coordinate and focus efforts on local growth and good jobs once again.
As Publisher of the Tribune, I wrote about government waste, fraud and abuse during those 26 years, but it did little good after the fact. Now in retirement, I have the experience and time to get directly involved to prevent problems before they become law. With no business conflicts or other commitments, I can devote full time and effort to learning the new job and doing it right.
As a retired newspaper Publisher, I am trained to ask questions to get to the truth. I will question everything as your Supervisor to get the best value for your tax money. I will not be intimidated or distracted by anyone.
I invite your suggestions and comments. Click the link to e-mail me.
If you agree that 23% tax increases to cover past mistakes is not good government or management of your tax dollars, I need your vote on June 7.
It’s your community and your tax money. Together, we can do better!
